Mums with teens on the GC

I'm looking for mum friends with teens here on the Gold Coast. My teen daughter who is 16 has moved up after spending some time with her Dad, which unfortunately has left her with CPTSD. It's with this reason we are going down the home-schooling route to help lessen some pressure. The thing is, this really restricts her from finding friends which is needed. She is missing her Melb friends. I also have a 5 year old girl as well but since moving up here I haven't really put myself out there to meet many friends myself. If anyone has teens and would like to connect that would be great. Or even ideas of how my daughter could meet some friends up here. Thanks so much

I don’t have a teen (I’m about to be a FTM) but I moved here from Darwin fresh out of school as an 18 year old knowing no one. I’d recommend social sports and part time/casual work, that’s where I met people my own age! I played social netball at Ashmore Indoor Sports Centre (I had never played in my life!) and you can simply join another team, just send an email. It’s also pay as you play, no signs up etc. I worked casually at Zambrero and also made quite a few friends in the same age bracket, with most staff being from 15-22 roughly.

I only have boys. Oldest is almost 14 and still more in the "girls are gross" kind of stage 😂 the other two are 8 and 14 months. But good luck! I've been hoping to meet people with kids around my oldest sons age as well because most of my friends only have younger kids. It's hard out there for mums of teens!

Hi Kiandra, I have two teen daughters and one in her early twenties. My teens are 14 and 17, and would be keen to meet your daughter. My youngest is now homeschooling and would love for her to meet people to do homeschooling activities with. We are based in southern gc but can drive anywhere. Feel free to reach out 🙂
