Venting

Just need to vent a little- I’m 40, we found out we were expecting closer to Christmas and recently got our sonogram at 8 weeks- everything is perfect, so far. We have a 6 yo- been trying for a second for a year now. I asked my husband to tell his parents but no one else- I’ve since had strangers congratulate me because my mil told them. I’m terrified since I know I’m older and very early- I’m annoyed that I have the fear that if things don’t go well I now have the added burden of all these people knowing- (we have not “”officially”” announced it- as my tests are in a couple days). Talk me off the edge or at least tell me I’m not crazy.

Show your support

That’s wild for your in laws to share the news. I’m so sorry that happened. That action definitely warrants a conversation with them and they owe you an apology.

The good thing about telling people early, is that if something does go wrong then you will have a lot of support. I totally understand the fear of something going wrong especially in early pregnancy. Have faith in your body and remember this is what our bodies are designed to do. But your MIL definitely shouldn’t have told anyone, it wasn’t her place to do so.
