CRM at UHCW

Has anyone used this clinic for IVF or a FET as a private patient? Or NHS really. Trying to get a consultation booked with them and the communication is so bad so I’m wondering this is what I can expect the whole way through then cos cus if so I’ll go elsewhere 😖

I had IVF here. 3 rounds on the NHS then paid for our last round privately. We finally got pregnant on that last round and my LB is 3 weeks old. The nurses there were amazing, couldn’t have got through the experience without them. I can understand your frustration with appts, it always felt like a waiting game but once we were through the door the following appts went smoothly.

@Ali that’s reassuring. They would be my preferred clinic it’s just so frustrating. I’ve been trying to book a consult for over a week and being met with radio silence. I’m currently under Care Northampton who have been amazing so it just feels disheartening to be getting such poor service. Hopefully if I grin and bear it and get my consult booked the following process will go ok x

We had a cycle there with 3 transfers in total under nhs. Sadly ended up with 2 miscarriages and 1 failed. Honestly the reason why we left and went to another clinic for private treatment was because of VERY POOR communications!!! Otherwise it was the closest and we loved the nurses too. So glad we did otherwise they were really adding unnecessary stress to an already stressful journey.

If you decide to go with them, make sure you ask if private patients do get prioritised for FET. In our case when having frozen embryos with them, we had to wait for 2-3 months after a failed transfer because of a queue to get a ‘nurse appointment’ - super frustrating to say the least… which means at least 4+ months wait until the next transfer can happen. And also super long waits for scan appointments etc. Not sure if they have improved but our experience really wasn’t that good in 2020-21.

We had one round of IVF at CRM. It's was through the nhs and we did not have a great experience. The consultations were always rush, wait times were really long and communication was very poor. O would call, email and no one would get back to me. On the day of the egg retrieval I was woken up straight after the procedure. I was told the bed is needed for another patient so I need to get ready straight away. I then got dressed and was told to sit on a chair. I was sat waiting on that chair for around 4 hours, in a lot of pain. It was a horrible experience. Also, I had all my checks done at crm and they said I was the one that had the fertility issue but turned out it was my husband that had the fertility issue but we never found out through crm. I always found I was called to the appointments late, they were rushed and the consultants were always rude although the nurses were nice. I would not recommend it. We ended up going abroad for another IVF and although we didn't get pregnant we had a much

A much better experience. I would not recommend CRM and yes the communication was poor throughout, we had to speak to someone immediately during IVF and we couldn't get through to anyone x

Thank you all so much for your insights. I’m so sorry you had such poor experiences but based on our experience I can totally believe it! I made a complaint re the lack of communication an was promised a call which never came so that was the nail in the coffin for me. We’re staying with our existing clinic which I know in my gut is right and I’m feeling positive now. We have our consult and pretreatment scan booked for early next month 🥰

@Sarah it’s shocking that they did that to you after your EC 😖😖😖
