When you stop using formula. It is the bacteria in the formula that may get left behind after washing that can make baby really poorly that the sterilising ensures is cleared not bacteria from the outside world

As above, you need to sterilise for as long as you use formula

Do you sterilise bottles if it’s been used for expressed milk or pump parts after every use in 24 hours?

@Zeynep I keep my pumps in the fridge & use them throughout the day and use them at night everyday. The bottles I treat as my LOs bottles, after every use.

Sterilise* not use at night

I don't sterilise my pump or bottles as they're only ever used for breast milk.

@Charley you should sterilise bottles after every use and pump parts after every 2-3 uses whether it’s breast milk or formula x

@Romany my breast pump instructions are to wash with hot soapy water after every use. I've done my own research into the need to sterilise when using bottles for breastmilk and I'm happy with hot soapy water
