@Jess ah I see, I don’t know if Valentine’s Day review is just a check in or our time to swap back to cows milk see. I’ll be sure to ask them this! I’m more curious about how long we reintroduce cows milk for before they’d make a diagnosis or not! X
@Holly Driscoll I think typically they say around a month - whilst babies are still little, it's the only firm way to confirm a diagnosis. So you'd start my introducing a scoop of regular formula into their special formula and build it up over a week or two. If you see a reaction, you stop and keep them on the hypoallergenic milk. This then essentially confirms the diagnosis and then you get them on the milk ladder at around 9 months. The amount of time I've spent researching / speaking to specialist is a joke 😭🤣 I've become a bit of an expert in the subject.
@Jess thank you for your help💓💓
They shouldn't trial going back onto cows milk for at least 1 month, this gives baby time to adjust to the hypoallergenic formula and from experience, that takes at least 4 weeks. My little boy was on it for 2 months, but we have now reintroduced cows milk at 16 weeks and apart from eczema, he seems great!
