This boy!

The absolute love of my life ❤️ Feels like recently I've been stressing about the future. Necessary in some ways as it's probably better to be prepared for childcare/working arrangements/finances etc but it's also making me miss out on making the most of the here and now with the wee one. I've been very lucky to not need to go back to work yet, finishing my degree this year and spend every day with my guy. Privileged to not be paying out the nose for childcare so far too. I had to sell my house when I was pregnant so we've been living off of that money. But my uni degree is coming to an end in may, Austin will turn 2 in July, and I'll be looking to get into a job hopefully with help from my degree. I just don't know how to do it. Single mum, need to earn I'd say a reasonable amount. We need our own house as I live back home with my parents and it's not ideal. Council house waiting list is 10,000 deep and we aren't high importance on that. How do you do childcare and find/start a new job and afford it all and manage to pick up/drop off etc etc ? Reassurance and top tips welcome 😊 Help 😬

Well done, it sounds like you've done a fab job so far. How about a rental for a bit while you find a job. You probably won't be able to get a mortgage until you've passed your probation so give yourself 6 months to a year in a job then look to buy. 15 hrs free childcare at the moment and it will be 30 from September ❤️

@Nia I'm just unsure about renting as it'll eat the last of my savings while I currently don't have a steady income. Im finding it hard to make the right decision as it's a bit of a catch 22 with all the options 😐 I think I need to get a job and be secure right away, but can't do that until I have childcare in place, which I can't do until I have a job to afford it 😂 then after we figure that out, I'd love to just get any sort of flat/house . Rent or mortgage. But just knowing the other stresses have been dealt with

Could you start a part time job for now to start your income, get your little one settled into a nursery / childminder on the 15 funded hours, and then it will tide you over until you’re able to find the right job using your degree? Fingers crossed it all works out for you, sounds like you’re doing amazing so far ❤️

@Bethany I've taken up a little cleaning job but it's only £60 a week so it's not going far. But it is something, getting me out etc so it has it's perks. I think I'm going to have a whole night dedicated to applying to lots of things again, that was unsuccessful last time but can only persevere eh? Xx

@Holly you’re doing your best and that’s all you can do. It can be so soul destroying trying to find a job and being rejected over and over, but something good will come your way if you keep persevering ❤️
