Same here
No it’s nothing to be concerned about normally boys don’t talk til THEY want to I’d just work with him on it all babies develop at their own pace🩷
My boy is still mostly just babbling. He can do mama and dada but that’s about it. He seems like he’s trying cause he has made new sounds but no new words yet. My husband is Hispanic so we are teaching our son to be bilingual so we are expecting that may make him a little delayed in speech. I think boys are on their own timeline 🤪
Same! My daughter knows what we’re saying but isn’t quit talking yet but She does say the word NO 😂
I’m a nanny and the child that I watch now 3 didn’t talk until after 2. Like nothing at all. Then one day, he did. Now he won’t stop lol. Don’t be worried at all.
My 15 month girl still only says Dada for everything. She does sign though and uses about 6 signs regularly. The pediatrician doesn't seem concerned, so I'm not either!
I barely even get babbling currently on the waiting list for speech therapy
Here to say I’ve seen plenty of kids not speak at all until 2. I have a 15 month old girl and she talks non stop but my last nanny kid (a boy) only said a few words until maybe 2.5.
Mine’s the same age and does the same thing. He HAS said Mama and Dada in the PAST, but it was a long time ago and I believe he has forgotten since how to say it. Currently practicing more. Right now everything is “gah” lol
When experts say that children typically “talk at 12 months,” they are referring to the early stages of meaningful speech rather than full sentences or clear words. Around their first birthday, many babies begin to use consistent sounds or approximations to label objects, people, or needs. At this stage, a child may repeat the same babble-like sounds when referring to a specific item, which indicates they understand that objects and people have names. For example, a baby might consistently say “ba” for “ball” or “da” for “dog.” This is an important milestone in language development, as it shows they are beginning to associate sounds with meaning.
Twinning!!! Looks like thier playing the long game
Don’t be worried! Every baby is different and I know plenty of kids who didn’t speak until they were over the age of 2 and they were perfectly fine 😊
Mostly babble here too and it’s totally normal!! The speech will come, I’m not worried about it at all! Mine says dada, mama, she’s trying to say her sisters name, animal sounds and stuff like that but just baby babble. It’ll come one day. My first born started talking out of nowhere at 18 months and hasn’t stopped since. She’s now 3 and talks like a teenager 🤣speech is so wide ranged so there’s no need to worry!
My daughter is doing exactly the same!!
Same here to a tee!
