Sex after birth

How did yall manage starting to have sex again after 6 weeks? Did you even want to have sex? Was it painful? Did it feel different after giving birth?

i only waited 3ish weeks and yes since giving birth my drive has been high. it was painful, it was like the first time all over again and it felt different in a good way. i had always felt like i didn’t really feel anything but now it’s like woah

I don’t know if I’m being honest. I didn’t want to wake the 6 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 was dying for it a couple days after but didn’t as. I had stitches. 4 weeks later it just kinda happened it hurt for a second but I told my partner that he needs to be gentle and he was

After an over all 4 and a half weeks it felt bloody brilliant after a second or two was long over due ahahaha. But only do it when YOURE ready not him Oka

i’m a wuss with pain and 3 weeks pp about to be 4, so i’m waiting the 6 weeks. i just top him off for now until i’m ready.

I waited til about 8w and it was a little uncomfortable for me

@Danielle that’s exactly what I do 😂 I’m almost 3 weeks pp but idk if I’m going to wait the 6 weeks tho 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

Honestly my daughter is 10 months and I have no sex drive. Sucks because k was VERY SEXUALLY ACTIVE

It was a little uncomfortable for me but no pain, just take it slow

I waited 2 weeks but had a EMCS. We took it slow and it was fine. Xx

I didn’t have sex till I was 10 months pp just because it hurt me a lot after I had my little girl she’s one n half now and am 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd I had a 4th degree tear with her so I had to go to hospital back and forth for appointments with down there

3 weeks and that was after an episiotomy. It wasn’t painful! Just forgot to use contraception but luckily was probably too soon to matter 🤣

I waited 3 weeks but I had a c section so I feel like that made it easier the 1st time didn't hurt me but I tried to go a second round the same day and that round did start hurting so definitely take it slow and ease back into it

Thanks for all the advice ladies! I’m going to wait until I’m ready, my partner will understand.

@Tatí 🇳🇬 i’ve gotta. i’m still hurting and i messed up my stitches

I didn’t want too at all! All I thought about was sleep lol! Took me forever to heal!

It was sore the first time for both my kids. I’m definitely not excited to try again after the 6 week mark. Kinda makes me want to avoid it all together. I have no sex drive right now. 1) because of the hormone fluctuations from birth to breastfeeding. And 2) because of the discomfort I’ll feel again. I didn’t tear or have any damage. But it just usually was uncomfortable. Using a lot of lube the first time really does help tho. It does go back to normal tho! Don’t let that scare you. For me at least. First time is just a bitch. 🤣

It’s been 4 weeks and no I don’t wanna have sex at all … I don’t think I will after 6 weeks either .. idk

Just like everyone is saying just go when you’re ready! Take it slow, use lube, and be on top so you are in control as you process all the sensations! It does get better! And if you are experiencing new pain or anxiety please see a pelvic floor therapist! You may have some tightness or strengthening to do to help you body heal :)
