sleep training my 9 month old

Initially, I decided against sleep training but after nine months of co-sleeping and getting little to no sleep I decided that my health was more important than a few minutes of crying. I started a week ago and he has never cried for more than 20 minutes although it is still so hard! I see a positive change in his mood throughout the day now that we’re both getting more rest. I wish that I had started with a better routine from the get go because this wouldn’t have been so difficult. Any other moms in a similar situation or have some advice for night wakes?

It's hard to hear them cry regardless. You feel like you are abandoning them. I've always had my baby since I brought him home fall asleep on me or hubby and then place him where he's to sleep. Sometimes he just can't get comfy on me or I distract him somehow and if he don't fall asleep I just set him in his crib. And I say it's okay. Goodnight! And I close the door and walk away with the baby monitor. They get faster with it. Just be sure when they wake up the first few times that you get their like immediately. It helps them feel secure to fall asleep cuz they k ow the sooner they go to bed tye sooner they get to see mom again

@Laura so helpful thank u!

Since my son was born I’ve always unfortunately falling asleep nursing him… And that just started the habit of coast sleeping and of course as a mom holding her baby, you gotta sleep with one I opened no matter what. But a couple months ago I started a routine I get him ready for bed at seven and by 8 to 830 pm he is in bed, we usually wake up a couple times in the night and I just nursed him back to sleep. But for the most part he wakes up Happy and ready for the day, as do I. The only thing I truly am struggling with is eventually weaning him from breast-fed to bottle… Cause I’ve tried five different bottles and I can’t seem to find one that he likes at all

@Elise have you tried Lansinoh?
