Baby Hitting Herself

So, my almost 11 month old has been hitting herself recently. It has been with her own hands sometimes, or with her toys other times. She doesn't do it too hard, but it's still a concerning amount. She's also started to pull her hair when she's trying to go to sleep, and I'm sure it's just for comfort, but I worry she's hurting herself. (She also bangs her head a little on the floor or against the back of her crib occasionally as well) Has anyone else gone through this? Is it normal? And what can I do about this??

Yes, it's definitely a normal phase of development! SOMETIMES it can be a sign of something else, but it sounds like she isn't doing it to excess or actually harming herself. Hitting the head is a form of self soothing and its generally something they grow out of. My daughter went from hitting herself in the head at night to pulling her blanket up/over her face and back down/away once she hit the enveloping schema phase (where they like to cover stuff/be in a tent)

@Stephanie I see, thank you! Glad to know she's just a little tornado 😂😂😂
