Make sure to look into paced feeding! 8oz at 2 mo sounds like A LOT. But growing is good, babies grow very fast at this age.
My 2 month old is combo feeding (breastmilk + formula). My first time breastfeeding as my first didn’t latch on. He’s currently in 3-6 months clothing, even then it’s starting to be a bit snug on him. He’s drinking 4oz every 4-5 hours.
Mine is 2 months old on Wednesday and he is on the boob juice and in the same boat with clothes and feedings! Even with the paces bottles, he downs 7-8 oz between our sleep stretches. Like stop growing so dang fast!! 😭 I just swapped out his clothes yesterday to the bigger size. Feels like her gonna be wearing 9 month old stuff in another month 😂
My 2 month old breastfed baby is in some 3-6 clothes! It definitely depends on the brand but some of the 0-3 just aren’t big enough for her chunky thighs. My first born was always sized up too although it was his length more than weight.
7 weeks. Breastfed and wearing mostly 3-6 and a few 6-9!! He’s outgrown so much clothes because of his length
My breastfed baby was soo chunky. He was 2 months and in 3-6 months like it was nothing.
If the pediatrician isn’t concerned then I wouldn’t be either! My daughter is growing significantly faster than my first. Every baby’s growth rates are unique. 💕
Formula fed babies will generally eat more because formula doesn't change as baby ages like breast milk. If they are happy and not throwing up/spitting up after every feeding and not fussy after feeding they are probably getting what they need. Your baby may just be trying to make up for lost time after that NICU stay. If your baby is making signs like above, that can be a sign that they are getting too much in a feeding or sensitive to the formula you have them on. Pace feeding can help make sure they didn't get the bottle too fast which can lead to them getting a little overfull. Hooray for growing fast! My first was suuuuuuuper skinny and we always had the opposite worry of him not eating enough (he was in the 10th percentile for weight and 65th for weight.
