We just bought the joie i360 r129 on offer at smyths too. Really good most peanut mums recommended it on here when I'd done a similar post
Agree with an axkid. Joie are very bulky and might not last till 4 years if baby is higher centile x
Is your baby high or low centiles. I have a British dual fix m isize for my first who's 3. He's low centiles so will last him probably until hes 5+ My other has a maxi cosi pearl pro hes only 9 months but high centiles so will probably be outgrown at 3.5 I needed spin seats for accessibility reasons and my 9 month old has a medical condition so I needed functionalities of that seat for him. I will be keeping both rear facing as long as possible so these seats both allow me to do that. My 9 month old wears foot braces so will probably end up ff earlier
Thank you for the suggestions!
@Louise she’s about average, weights 8.8kg at 9 months
@Jayde ah great, can you use it without the base?
@Louise out if curiosity what will you use when your 9 month old outgrows yhr spin seat I'm having thr same issue with ny two year old.
@Ella it's a tethered seat so there is no base, it just goes onto the seat and you lock it in with the seat belt and some tether straps that you attach to the railings of the eat in front or under the seat. We have the joie 360 in my car and I actually hate it so much, the only good thing about it is it spins, but it jiggles a bit where as the axkid doesn't budge at all and it's also super bulky so the bigger my baby gets the harder it is to get her in the car seat.
Another vote for the Axkid minikid 2 - my almost 3 yr old is in one and we’ve just moved my 10 month old into his. They’re great seats and lower down than the joie 360 (because no base) which is a plus because you don’t risk banging their head every time you put them in and my eldest can climb in by himself which is really handy. We had a Joie 360 for a while before replacing it with the Axkid.
We have the axkid minikid 2 in my husbands van, and it's super simple to install, a more compact shell than most, and depending on your child's centiles will probably last anywhere from 5-7.
