Harrogate hospital

O had my little girl there i 2020 wasn't a great experience. Had my boy at James Cook in September and was fantastic x

I had both of mine there. One in 2018 and one in 2024. All staff were great, and couldn't fault the care and support given. I had two c sections and complications before and after and they were amazing throughout. They are however very short staffed and this shows on the maternity ward. Small, less important things get missed and forgotten about as the small number of nurses and midwives try to do everything with reduced numbers. Ie a fan when I was recovering and it was 35+°

@Jade unfortunately, it’s James Cook that have provided me with less than adequate care throughout my pregnancy including overdosing me on medication that caused me to lose consciousness 😕

Omg no way sorry to hear that. I had similar experience at harrogate I put it down to covid period and short staffing but I had friends since then that would never go back. Someone suggested york to me as an option as well?

I had my son back in 2021 and wasn’t a great experience, but aftercare was ok I had to stay for 9 days. I’d have a look at their latest CQC report.

I had my little boy in 2023 and my midwife was amazing. I had a good experience there. I wasn't there long but they couldn't do enough for me and my husband

I gave birth there in September 24 and they were great with me. I’m really anxious with all things medical and needles but they were so caring about it and made me feel safe. So when I had complications I didn’t feel worried. However they were totally at max capacity so all I’d say is, if you’re labouring well you may feel like at times you’ve been left or forgotten about. But when you need their help it’s all eyes on you which is all that matters. So go in with realistic expectations xxx
