Extracurriculars

Do you have your toddler in any extracurriculars or are planning to enroll them? How has been your experience? Drop a pic if you want to. We are in swimming lessons since she was 4 months (now 17 months) and now she jumps on the water (towards our arms) on her own. My nephew is in soccer lessons (he is 20 months) and he also seems to enjoy it a lot. I like those activities because normally they are parent-child so we enjoy them a lot. We also tried gymnastics for the season but that is more unstructured play than anything else. 😂

Soccer at 20 months!? Wow I’m impressed someone offers that. I am looking into starting more when she turns 18 months we did try a dance class but it was mostly just her running around because she couldn’t really follow direction

We put our toddler in swim class around 6 months and he did that for about 3 months. He did great at it but we (parents) were getting tired of the drive and it seemed to be during his nap time so he would get disrupted. Now he has been in gymnastics and their class is actually structured too. It's a lot more of a work out for me but probably good for him.

We are about to begin swim lessons and he starts soccer when he turns 2. There isn't much in our area for tiny kids 😔

I started my now 17mo in swim at 4 months and she absolutely loves it and I started her in gym at the little gym when she turned 1 and she loves that too and it’s helped her (and her sister) be so strong and coordinated. I had both of my girls in music together until their teacher retired and they loved that class so much I’m sad there isn’t another closer to us. She “joins” in with her older sister’s dance class but doesn’t actually do much except dance to the music and run around

Mine does football and swimming 😊 so cute
