Lay down with him sitting on one side and put a toy that he LOVES on the opposite side and try guiding him with your assistance to reach for the preferred toy/item
Mine would hold on to things standing and cruising long before she actually started pulling herself up. We called it fake cruising. Lol. I tried a lot of things and at the end of the day she just needed to build her strength up and did it on her own. It will come.
