I didn't try until after birth. I just latched my daughter like the LC said in hospital. I also didn't want to EBF but the LC said "if you can remain calm & hydrated, you are very likely to be successful at breastfeeding. When baby cries, put baby on your boobs. In 4 days you'll be dumping buckets" I listened & did that, we were discharged day 2 like I wanted to be lol 😆 & literally day 3 morning I had a puddle like my boob exploded & fed my daughter with the other breast & yup. I literally went from 0 nothing, to 4-5oz per boob the first week PP
I wouldn’t worry too much honestly. I couldn’t get any colostrum and then my milk came in as soon as she was born even the midwife’s were shocked. It’s not that important because they will still get it when they’re born x
I was exactly the same, got very little before baby came but even if nothing comes out, all the stimulation helps milk to come in. For me, breast massages helped, especially starting at the top and working towards the nipple. And keeping the breast compressed for 20-30 seconds when getting to point of compression. The biggest thing is to keep trying, if you can, try at different times of the day as you met find you get more at certain times of the day - for me it was always afternoon x
Keep trying. I had good and bad days. I actually got more without the bath
I had nothing either! Mine came shortly after baby was born.
