Hey 1 ur beautiful Anxiety is normal Take it day by day Vitamin e helps And is low cost But dont stress
I used oil at first but then just got anxious, cried it out. Stopped carring 🤷🏻♀️ i barely look at it now
I don't do anything with it I'm 5 months pp n I've emotionally detached from it and the thought of touching it makes me gag for some reason and it looks fine, my midwives said the best thing u can do for it is air it out as much as possible. I don't even wash it with soap I just run some water over it and it looks pretty good considering. If u do want to moisture it or do scar massage I recommend using coconut oil it's very gentle on the skin x
-Vitamins E lotion and silicone strips over it. -A scar release program (I did this through a chiropractor) and as an added bonus the chiropractor showed me how to massage it. -gradually allow your self to touch it. You don’t have to dive right into it.. just a little bit at a time! I found reminding myself that this is how my baby came to me helped me love the scar and every day when I massage it / do a treatment I am so proud of myself for having not only a baby but a major unexpected surgery to bring him home healthy!!
I’m using Frida Mom c section scar tape (you can also use just medical grade scar tape). My scar also opened and I had the thread come undone and poking out quite a bit. I used Weleda Calendula cuts and grazes salve to help it heal/close up. Once that was done the thread fell off and I’ve started to use the tape. If the wound is open the tape won’t stick. I wasted quite a few sheets of tape. I’m currently 6 weeks pp so not done any scar massaging.
If you are early postpartum definitely domt massage scar yet. It is not recommended till 12 weeks postpartum. Same with moisturizer is probably best to wait till the scar is healed. However if you are over 12 weeks postpartum I'd suggest the massage. Start slowly by just touching it with clean fingers and progressively work your way up to a massage. Online has lots of good ideas for this!
Wow thank you so all so so much! I'm 5 months PP, so I've tried to avoid it to this point. I've just noticed it's itchy and dry on the scar, so I wasn't sure if i needed to be doing something. It also opened for the 2nd time last week, but closed in about 3 days on its own. I have never had surgery prior to my c-section, and I have horrible medical anxiety due to medication reactions and my birth overall was a bit traumatizing, so I tend to overthink. Thank you all for the recommendations and advice!!!♥️♥️♥️
@Caira understandable! My scar opened a few times as well. My suggestion is maybe wait for it to close before doing anything
@Caira the itchy & dryness could just be because it’s healing, mine was itchy as hell too! But if it opened last week I’d probably just leave it alone and just wash over it with water. After mine I was petrified to even scrub the sticky stuff from the dressing off so I literally just left it until it didn’t hurt as much😂
I didn’t do any of that
I didn’t do any of these things 😂
