Car seat safety

So I have this friend we met a few years back working together. I had my first kid in 2020. She had her first kit in 2021 and since the end I don’t know, I like I just I need to find mom friends who listen because I don’t understand why the first baby, she had she would sometimes have him forward facing And then she say oh we’re just sitting in the parking lot. He’s OK. She has another baby now doing the same thing posting on Snapchat her baby is for facing. Would I be in the wrong to say hey turn that baby around cause if you get in a car crash, your baby is dead. This is also a Doona car seat/stroller.

For a baby to be facing forward is literally setting up a death. So yes, as a real friend, let her know she needs to fix the car seat for her babies. She can Google at what age she can start facing them forward like so. My 2 kids are grown so I really don't remember timeline but Google. Def not safe

@christy exactly but I don’t know if I said it, but this is her second child. She did the same thing with her first child and try to play it off. How many times do you need to be told that your baby needs to be turned around before you actually do it cause why aren’t you? I looked it up. The Doona car seats are not even meant to be forward facing. So that puts her baby at even more risk because the car seat is not designed to be facing that way.

I have a friend that turned her baby forward facing at 11 months. She said she talked to the pediatrician about it so I didn’t say anything else. But man was it hard to not cringe everytime I saw it

Pediatricians don’t know sht about car seats. You go to a CPST for that

If it’s a Doona and that’s how she’s driving then yes you should say something but not on they are dead. But that that car seat is not supposed to be like that. How old is her second child. If she wants to forward face and her baby is of age or weight then it’s fine and up to her. But the doona can’t be like she needs to get another car seat

Car seat safety isn’t a parental choice. It’s literally our job as parents to keep our kids safe. Not flip them for convenience

I would say hey idk if you know this but that car seat is only supposed to be installed rear facing. If you’re wanting your child to be forward facing you need to get a new car seat so it can be reclined the right way

I believe the baby is six months for anybody asking also she for rephrased her Otis son early and when the baby was just born, maybe a three months she posted the baby facing too

@Gabrielle I believe the baby is six months for anybody asking also she for rephrased her Otis son early and when the baby was just born, maybe a three months she posted the baby facing too

@Gabrielle the baby is only six months

Where are you? In the states and Canada it’s illegal to have a child forward facing before 2 years of age..? Edit** I just looked it up, it’s illegal in every state except Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico where its 12 months not 24
