I haven’t had the best experience with birth control until I got the nexplanon.

Ask your doctor about the mini pill. It’s low dose so recommend while breastfeeding.

I have the IUD (Copper) non hormonal and it worked for me for 4 years then we started trying. I have a new one from a couple months post partum.

I am using the mini pill for three months then I'll move to the copper IUD. I've had copper IUDs before getting pregnant and on the mini pill now as I was told that there is a higher risk of perforation of the uterus after you give birth so they suggested (the nurse and doctors) to wait 3/4 months post partum... Tbh I have friends that out the IUD in as soon as 8 weeks post partum and they are absolutely fine. I hate the hormonal pill but the mini pill seems to be ok for now... I've been taking it for 3 weeks now... Let's see.

Cooper coil or the ring (I believe the nuva rings usually uses, other brands are avaliable). The ring releases hormones direct to your cervix so many people don't experience symptoms. And the copper coil works because copper is toxic so kills sperm and bacteria to be fair.

@Helen I don’t think the ring is safe to take while breastfeeding. My dr only gave me a few options since I’m breastfeeding

@Breauna the only thing that's safe while breastfeeding is the mini pill. You can't have progesterone while breastfeeding. It kills your supply.

I’ve been on the mini pill for the past five months and it’s been fine I still get periods/ some irregularities which is annoying but I’ve never had a dip or anything since on it. It’s been gine I haven’t lost any weight though on it but tbh I haven’t tried so idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ my pms is pretty much normal as it would be without the pill not any worse or better
