Lack of speech

I am starting to get really worried about LO. In general he still babbles and doesn’t seem very interested in mimicking sounds - he does try to occasionally but it’s very hit and miss. Is anyone else experiencing this?

My boy only really says dada consistently. He says ‘du’ for duck and I know it means duck but it sounds nothing like the actual word. Very occasionally says ‘yeah’. He makes lots of weird babbling noises like a dj deck is stuck 😂 but that’s about it. Does your LO understand words/ phrases you say? Everyone says understanding comes before speech. I’m not worried as they’re still so young and they all develop at different rates x

My lb is very noisy with sounds and babbling only really. He says mama and just started doing uh-oh a few days ago, he doesn't even say dada. But he understands everything we say so I'm hoping the speech will come soon x

My twins aren’t really saying much. My little girl says ‘ta’ and ‘Hiya.’ My little boy only says ‘dig’ weirdly haha. But they understand a lot, for example if i say ‘kiss please’ my little boy will come and give me a kiss. If I say thanks my little girl will come over and give me what she’s holding. I think their understanding right now is stopping me from being worried because they clearly get what words mean they’re just not saying them as of yet x
