I have a few tbh, with different tyoes of icepacks haha
Yeah I was looking at maybe getting one of those if it’s the only way to keep the milk good all day. Thanks! :)
I have these. If I knew I was gonna be out of the house for a whole day, I used to put them in the fridge as well as the bottles. I exclusively express. If I took milk out of the fridge, I would allow for 6hrs in a cool bag before I considered the milk “spoiled”. If it was fresh milk, I would allow for close to 4hrs (depending on how the weather was).
@Ana great thank you! 6 hours from the fridge is useful too…I know it’s 4 hours at room temperature but I usually pump and store in the fridge so my milk is always chilled
I use these and they do keep an ice cold bottle out of the fridge cold for longer than 2 hrs
personally I wouldn't do it without ice just to be safe or if you don't use ice I would stick to around 4 hours
I have used these with breastmilk stored in for about six or seven hours before. I actually made my own ice pack by freezing water in breastmilk bags, and then I put two around the breastmilk in the tommee tippee bags. When I went for a christmas brunch, I actually kept the milk in the bags (from fridge and freezer stash) rather than bottles and just poured it in when I needed it. I found the milk was still really cold even around 6 hours later, so I assume it was okay and safe to drink as it didn't reach room temperature until I poured it into the bottles - my daughter had no problems from it anyway!
@Ellie thanks that’s a great idea! My partner has only ever used these bags when he takes our daughter out for a short while and probably gives her the milk within an hour of it leaving the fridge, so good to know how long it can actually last in there for. Great idea with the makeshift ice packs too!
I just have a small lunch cooler bag with ice packs
