Some recovery positivity neededšŸ«¶šŸ»

Iā€™m 3 days post c section and just looking for abit of positivity regarding recovery as Iā€™m feeling quite frustrated and down because I canā€™t do all the things I want too (obviously) which I did prepare myself for as much as possible but Iā€™m struggling abit. My partner is an absolute god send and he is the best support system, heā€™s done all the things with the baby when needed and given me the choice to do them if Iā€™m feeling up to it, he does all the housework, helps me to the toilet etc so Iā€™m very blessed. I just canā€™t help feel like I want this whole c section to be a distant memory and I want to be back to my normal self. Iā€™m managing pain with only panadol which I seem to be getting on fine with. Iā€™m up and about walking around the house little bits at a time. Iā€™ve done the stairs a couple of times slowly. Iā€™ve had a bowel movement. Please someone tell me Iā€™m doing okayšŸ˜« Also did anyone else find their apetite decreased since c section?

You are doing incredibly well! Not only are you recovering from a major surgery but also looking after a tiny human. Be kind to yourself, mama! Give your mind and body time to adjust. It took me a month or so to start feeling more robust. Everyone is different though - take things at your own pace. Iā€™m so pleased you have a supportive partner šŸ„° My appetite was less for a week or so after the surgery. Then something changed and I couldnā€™t stop eating šŸ¤£ Well done! Rest when you can, enjoy your baby, accept the help thatā€™s offered to you and congratulate your amazing body for growing such a fabby little human!

You are doing amazing! Remember you are only on day 3, give it time! I felt I didnā€™t eat a lot after my section, it was a struggle to eat 3 meals, I just made sure I ate little and often to keep my energy up x

I was in a bit of shock at how my body was post section but I'm 7 weeks pp now and I can move freely without pain and started some pilates to help with my core. I feel like myself again (minus the weight I gained). You'll get there in no time just take the time you need to rest and recover

The fist few weeks are brutal i used to cry and think im never going to be better but i promise it will get easier! I am doing it again in a few weeks ! I also didnt want to eat much litle and often x

Keep going with the pain relief, even if you feel better! I thought I was fine after a week, boy was I wrong šŸ˜… youā€™re doing an amazing job after having major surgery, I promise itā€™ll get easier ā¤ļø

You are doing fine, if it helps you feel better. Day 5 for me I was pretty much pain free and stopped all pain meds. By day 10-14 I felt back to ā€˜normalā€™ you have time yet but itā€™ll go soo quick. Also yes my appetite decreased a lot after the baby.

Youā€™re doing so well! You will be out of the hardest part so soon, just keep resting and remember youā€™re not supposed to be doing anything. Xx

Just commenting to say youā€™re not alone, Iā€™m in the exact same position and from these comments it looks like weā€™ll be okayšŸ¤žšŸ»

Honestly in the next week or so youā€™ll be feeling so much better I didnā€™t have much time to even think about my pain my baby was in neonatal and I had been discharged so I was constantly going to and from the hospital which I think really helped i didnā€™t even think about anything else but making sure my baby was ok but he came home after 4 days and thatā€™s when I realised what my body had gone through and I was mentally and physically drained but by the following week I was pretty much back to doing things as normal just the bending down and get up from sitting was a bit awkward not painful I was just very aware that I had had surgery and now 4 months on seems like a distant memory your doing better than you think you are just take it slow and do something tomorrow you havenā€™t done today one step at a time
