OMG 💔

I FEEL LIKE SUCH A TERRIBLE MOTHER AND JUST WANT TO CRY MY EYES OUT. I was bathing my baby and my sister showed me a new bathing technique to pour the water out her bathtub and it requires lifting the bathtub and upwards forward. The bathtub slipped backwards and my baby fell off my support down to the bathroom tub and landed on her back and hit her head hard I believe with the tub. Absolutely terrifying. I was calm and she did start crying. Spot in the back of her head was red. What happens if baby hits their head while being so little ? 😩😭💔 she’s okay but it hurt my feelings so bad so bad. That she was in pain. And ofc it had to hurt. Also any of you know of a safer bathtub ? I do not feel safe using it anymore and my baby also keeps putting herself to the side and downwards and the water rises up fast it’s just not safe. I would also be taking recommendations! Thank you 😊

Is this the plastic tub or actual bath tub?

@Brooke so both she was in her baby actual plastic bath tub and then fell into the bathrooms actual bath tub 😰

Did you call the pediatrician?

Would recommend calling her doctor's office. If she cried immediately, that's a good sign.

And you aren’t a bad momma but I would want to hear reassurance from a doctor not us on peanut. ❤️❤️

@Brooke agreed! you're doing the best you can. accidents happen and we see that you care for her very much!

Don’t beat yourself up too much! I’ve learned from our pediatrician and friends that most of us will drop a kid at least once 🥲. But I do remember absolutely beating myself up when my first baby rolled off the bed while I was sitting next to her folding laundry 😭. Crying is a good sign, especially if she stops and is happy afterwards! In all likelihood she’s just fine, but I have taken mine into the pediatrician for falls just to make sure ❤️ as for emptying the tub, I just always empty it once my baby is out and use a cup to remove water during the bath if needed!

Motherhood is hard and things happen. I've had my fair share of things happen too. I would recommend calling a Dr though, just in case. I was told front of the head bump is not as concerning, back of the head is, depending on how hard it was hit. Learned that when one of my sons fell as he was trying to walk and hit his head on the corner of our dining table 😬 he had a bad hematoma on his forehead (large swollen bump)

I agree with what everyone else has already said here. To add, I would recommend the angelcare bath support, it holds your baby and you can just set it up inside of your tub! You're doing the best you can, the fact that you care and are learning proves that you're a good mom!

Sending so much love and prayers for sweet baby and you. I would call your pediatrician on call line if they have one or if not go to Children's Hospital ER. Pediatrician would most likely tell you to go to ER to be safe.

@Brooke it was CLOSED 😕

@Finn so she was quiet for a few I guess she got scared and then after a little silence facing up she started to cry.

@Brooke absolutely! I agree but it was closed and I freaked out and had to ask someone since I’m a first time mom and see if it has happened before to any mom if the baby had gotten hit in the head.

@Michelle yeah i usually empty it holding her and then emptying but my sister judged me that I work harder not smarter. Then after I’ve done it a lot of times it happened where she got hurt :( I’ll use the cup too! That’s smarter!

@Bree oh no :(! Im sorry! But yep my baby hit the back of her head pretty hard I believe. Then it was red for a bit and it slowly went away. I haven’t noticed a bump yet. Hopefully there’s none but you know it could be a possibility.

@Cas thank you so much honey 🩷 I really appreciate it so much!!

@Sarah Peds was closed, if I take baby in the ER what kind of check/testing would they do? Thank you love 💕

Do you think urgent care should be an option? I’m not trying to make you more anxious. I know some time has passed now. I do hope she is okay

I fell during pregnancy at 37 weeks I went went in just to be safe. It was a pain in the ass but it helped know she was safe more than just looks on the outside or how I felt. She kicked but I just wanted to know more. Do what you think is best. Prayers and hugs

@Cas OMG I HAVE BEEN WANTING THAT BATHTUB! It seems perfect since I seen it at target!!

@Brooke she is okay but they still recommend to take her in into the ER. I wish I would have known to take her in immediately yesterday after it happened.

@Brooke I went through a lot during my pregnancy so I would always have to go in to get checked the day of at the office or would have to go into the ER to get evaluated to make sure baby was okay!
