With my baby I just waited till he was consistently draining every bottle he was having throughout the day, over a day or 2 then I knew that’s when he was needing a larger amount. Also, of course every baby is different, but what I found was he was stopping half way through a bottle and pushing it out with his tongue, so burped him and tried the bottle again and he’d finish the whole thing
I had this with my baby what I done was I gave him 120 ml during the day then the bedtime bottle gave him the 150ml for a week so he got used to it then started giving him the 150ml during the day. Plus it helped my baby sleep through the night, I hope this helps x
My LB used to feed every 4 hours but as he’s getting older (nearly 19 weeks now) he feeds larger volumes but 2-3 hourly now in the day. He fills up in the day and then sleeps all night. Try offering a larger amount, and maybe look at your teat size if baby is seeming tired during the feeds. You can’t force them to have more as they will only take what they want. But those are a couple things you can try. But if baby is full up they’re full up. You can’t control how often they want fed. Babies digest milk really quick hence how often they feed. And like I say myself and others I know babies have actually increased the day time frequency themselves. But they sleep all night. How come it stops you having freedom during the day? X
My baby is 14 weeks and sleeps through the night. 9-7 He has a routine of feeding every 2 hours, with 30-40 min nap and 1-1.5hr wake window. He used to do 120ml every 3 hours and we had just increased to 150ml but then a few days later (early Jan) he got oral thrush, then had his 8 week jabs and then had a cold all of which changed his feeding for about 3 weeks where he dropped to 70-100ml per feed. The last few weeks he’s gone back up to 120ml but I would really like to get back to it being 3hrs rather than 2 hrs and also 150ml. He’s done it before for a week so I know he can take more.
