Pumping boobs in the night?

I combi feed my baby girl breast feed/bottle feed in the day (8 weeks old) And she feeds once in the night (I use a bottle of breast milk in the night as its suits us better) I will wake up once/twice in the night with engorged breasts and feel the need to pump and I do because I’m terrified of mastitis. How did you stop needing to pump in the night? How do you wean yourself so to speak? Thank you girls xx

Could you just pump a tiny bit to take the edge off rather than empty the breasts? That might be a way to gradually stop

How many times do you pump in the day? I pump in the morning and before I go to bed at night, and then breastfeed in the day! I do 1 formula bottle before we get up, so I can pump first as my boobs get a bit full! Do you have the right flange on your pump? xx

Just pump or hand express to relieve it a bit but don't empty yourself then you can wean yourself off. They do usually say you shouldn't miss the middle of the night pump as that can really effect your supply x

You should pump in the night to keep your supply up as baby is still feeding. If you still want to exclusively breastfeed during the day it is recommended to pump any feeds where baby is given a bottle to maintain supply as if you stopped that bottle then baby would be feeding on your boob instead It's actually the reason I don't give bottle as I would rather feed on breast than pump 😂
