Bed transition

For those of you who have got your little ones into a bed already, what type of bed did you go for. My boy is still in his cot, but we want to try and get him into a bed soon for him to get used to it. The cot he has does turn into a toddler bed, so we have that option but baby #2 is coming in June so weighing up our options for the end of the year. My nana also has a brand new bed and mattress which she said he can have, but it’s a divan style so possible higher up. I don’t know whether to slowly change or take the hit in one go.

We have a mattress on the floor.

I tried putting my LO into toddler bed and found it hard with him not wanting to go to bed and waking up on floor in middle of night even tho i put side rails on so ended up putting sides to cot back on.

We went straight to a low single bed as needed the cot for number 2 as well

We went for an ikea Kura. Set as a low bed for now with a bed guard on it, will flip it for a cabin bed when he’s older. He loves his “special bed”

We tried the toddler bed, but he sleeps sideways so was falling out 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣(he didn’t hurt himself). But we changed his bed to a small double ottoman style, so we have somewhere to store his toys at night and he isn’t tempted to get out and play. So it’s not low to the ground and he’s not fallen out of it. You do what you think is best for you and your little one. Xx

I'm pregnant and so we put her in a double bed. It makes bedtime so me a million times easier

Floor bed. It's like a little house shape. She's had it for a good few months now and still sometimes sleeps on the floor, or half out of the bed.
