I've never heard of this either.
@Jennifer I hear some hospitals don’t do it and some do! Mine does it and they said it covers about 90% of the pain and you are able to feel more of the pressure and you can move around in different birthing position, so it can help with pushing
I heard from a labor and delivery nurse that it’s a smaller dose of the same thing but you’re able to move around and still feel a bit. It starts fully numbing you and then wears off a bit and will slowly drip the medicine. If at any point you want to increase, they just increase the rate of the drip and don’t have to re-do all the insertion bits, so you’re ready to go. I’m thinking about doing this too.
I’ve never heard of this but due in July…interested to hear what others say….
