taking cara babies method. put down in crib awake and then do periodic check ins when crying every 5 10 15 minutes without picking up until asleep

I don’t believe in sleep training so can’t help too much but I will say that this will likely depend on baby’s age and sleeping environment etc. I think providing those can boost your chances of finding a good answer. You can also checkout Beyond Sleep Training FB - they have lots of good resources :)

Depends on the baby. Different temperaments make a big difference

I agree that it depends on the baby. Their age and methods you use to help them to sleep now makes a big difference when deciding how you want to sleep train.

I still nurse/rock to sleep at 17.5 months and she’s been sleeping through the night most nights now and will put herself back to sleep 95% of the time on her own without me “training” her to do anything

Dark room, white noise, sleep routine, then method you want to put your baby to sleep. You will know which way works best when the crying is the shortest and almost immediate effect improvement of sleep.

I followed advice from this! https://possumssleepprogram.com

My boy is very sensitive so we’ve found the chair method has made such a big difference! Especially because we tried Ferber but I just couldn’t leave him to cry for those intervals it broke my heart and he just gets more and more upset and goes red and I was just like no this isn’t going to work and I don’t want to do it to him The chair method is good because you’re still right there next to them, just helps them to fall asleep independently as my boy would wake up every time I put him down and was waking every 40 minutes so I couldn’t cope anymore, within 3 days of doing this method he no longer cries being put down and is sleeping SO much better!
