Walking

Is anyone else’s baby not waking yet? My little one is so keen to walk, he will walk around furniture, hold your hands and walk, plus will use his walker. He just won’t stand independently Has anyone got any ideas on how to support this development? He’s 13 months but was born 3 weeks early. Just so much pressure from friends who’s babies are walking at like 11-12 months 😓

My twin B walked at 11 months and twin A at 14 even though they both started walking assisted around the same time. I wouldn’t compare or be concerned yet

Take no notice of all your friends babies who are walking yours isn't far off and will do it when he is ready. They are all different and your friends should be supporting you. X

This is absolutely nothing to worry about, honestly. They’re all so different and he’s showing all the signs that he’s getting ready, so just give him time and he’ll surprise you one day. My girl walked at 15 months

My son wants to walk I'll hold him under his armpits n he'll step closer to me a few times and I tell him no he can't just skip a hole stage he atlest gotta try it before jumping over it, some babies take longer then others ita normal just like them starting sooner , the average age is a rough time frame but I'm sure your will when little one ready just keep helping them to stand and incourageing them to walk by leaning them forwards

My boy took his first steps towards the last week of the 13th month. He had been pulling himself up/ cruising since 9 months old.

Both of my children started walking at 12 months. However my nephew still isn’t walking and he’s 16 months. I wouldn’t worry at all as all babies are completely different and they’ll get there when they are ready x

You can’t physically do anything to get your child walking, it’s just about when they are ready and feeling confident to do so. I wouldn’t worry at all about your friend’s children walking x

My girl only started walking with 19 months 😊

My son started walking at 19m

My son was 9 weeks early and started walking at 18 months. My nieces all walked before 10 months. For my LO it was just a matter of building up the confidence.

My little one took her first step Saturday. But nothing since. She will stand on her own but literally for 5 seconds x

My twins are almost 15 months and we’re also born 3 weeks early. Twin A has been walking since Christmas and twin B still doesn’t walk. I’m not worried about her though she’ll do it when she’s ready

My son didn’t walk until 20 months !!!! Was the most stressful time of my life he was just lazy

My son walked at 14 months. Just stood up and off he went. He hasn’t stopped since! Enjoy it while you can 😊

When my baby turned 1, she wasn’t walking yet, so I started taking her to soft play regularly. Within a week, she was walking confidently!

Mine took steps around 12ish months, but it was only because I kind of surprised her (put her down and didn't take her hands; she walked to her uncle without even blinking). But after that she fell a couple of times and regressed for a little while, and didn't want to take steps without my hands for at least 3 weeks. Some kids are more cautious. It may not be that he CAN'T walk, he may just want to be more steady about it before he takes off.

My daughter started walking at 15 months old and that was just the first few steps - took a while for her to become steady on her feet!

My son didn’t start walking until closer to 14 months but was doing the furniture and hold hands and walk it just took him longer to get his balance
