Headphones are a life saver. Music or podcasts or videos on topics I wanna hear all help me out. My babies cries set my brain on fire. But having a noise I’m choosing to focus in on helps a lot
@Vanessa I’m currently staying with my family who have been a help where possible. Do you have any advice for me? I’m still in the early days as bubba is only a few weeks old.
Honestly I just wouldn’t expect to put baby down. My LO had colic so the nights were really rough. I also started meds
I don't get like that but some good advice would be to either put on some really good headphones and play some music so you don't hear it or if it gets to be really bad for you just put them in a safe place like their crib or some sort or safe play area that they can't get out of and walk out of the room for a bit
Yeah I struggled aswell and I use the headphones method or if I had tried everything I would pop her in her Ben for 10 mins and I would go sit in another room to collect myself x
Noise canceling headphones!! Lifesaver. When he's crying, I whip them on and am better suited to care for him.
Also you mentioned staying with family. Are they helping walk baby around? I understand you're exhausted, and that's what's helped me a ton, too. Don't mean to be demeaning with this one--in those first several weeks, I couldn't think at all, so I just want to cover all my bases!
@Finn Yes, my dad will walk her around the house sometimes to settle her when I can’t
Yes when baby was brand new I couldn’t tolerate the crying at all. I had to do all that I could to keep her from crying which meant minimal showers and constantly being on me or BF. At 3 months I needed my family so went for a visit
