I cut a little cross in the top and put it in an oven at 180-200ish for about an hour
Similar to @Alex, either air fry for an hour with oil salt and pepper, or microwave it for a bit first then air fry for less time!
You can also cook them in the slow cooker! Wrap in foil with some olive oil and a little salt and cook on low for 8hrs 🙂
I wash the potato and then put olive oil, salt and pepper on and wrap in tin foil. Stab several times around and put in oven on 200-220 for an hour or up to hour and half depending on how crispy you like it. Takes the longest time in oven but I personally much prefer it this way
Thank you all
I wash my potatoes stab them all over cover in olive oil/salt and stick them in the air fryer on 200 for 20mins then flip them and then 20mins again come out so crispy while soft on the inside
I poke mine and put them in the microwave for 10 mins and then spray them with oil and put them in the oven for 1 hour
Who knew it would be so tricky to cook a jacket potato!!! Growing up my mother made the best jacket potato’s but we no longer have a relationship and I can’t fully remember how she cooked them. I remember roughly that she would cook them a little then scrape the potato out of the skin mash the potato with some butter and lots of cheese and add in some cooked + cut bacon pieces then stuff it back into the skin and cook it for longer. I’ve been trying to look on tiktok for something similar but unable to find anyone who does it so I know how long to cook for etc
@Bethany why in the microwave? What does that do please
@Lucy it cooks quicker in the microwave so then I put it in the oven to crisp up the skin, I also find it's more moist and not as dry as your not cooking it for as long in the oven. Just the way I've always done it tbh🤣
@Lucy this is called loaded potatoe skins! I do this sometimes😍
@Bethany can you explain how you do it please? I’ve been wanting to do it for ages and actually bought potatos on the weekend to do it but haven’t got around to it yet. This post is such a coincidence! Do you cook the potato first before pulling the potato from the skin? If so how long for
@Lucy yes so I cook the jacket potatoes first how I normally do (10 mins in microwave first depending on size and then 1 hr in oven) and then I cut the bacon into small pieces and then fry. Once potatoes are done I cut in half down the middle take out the potato with spoon and mix with butter, cheese and bacon and put it back in so they are stuffed/loaded... exactly like you said! If not search on TikTok or google, I'm sure you will find a recipe on there xx
I usually poke mine all over with a fork, microwave for 5 mins, flip and do 5 more mins, then in the meantime I spread some butter on a tin foil and sprinkle some salt, pepper and garlic on the butter. Then wrap it, whack in the air fryer and air fry for around 15-20mins :)
