Infected incision wound

Sorry you are going through this, caring for your new baby and managing an infected wound and bleeding is a lot! My wound got infected around 4 weeks and I continued to bleed heavily on and off for about 6 weeks. Thankfully antibiotics cleared it up but I was close to having to be admitted. Have you been back to the hospital for bloods and wound swabs?

@Josie thanks for replying. Having a small panic tonight... easy when hormones are still doing their thing. I saw the GP today who took a swab. Also did a lower vaginal swab and urine sample. All 3 sent off for checking and some in the meantime antibiotics given, which I've started tonight. What would have made them decide to admit you out of interest? We had to spend an extra week in after birth due to post op complications for me so I'm rather nervous about ending up back in there x

Hey I ended up with an infection in the C-section scar at 8months pp due to an ingrowing hair I was put on to antibiotics and also an antibiotic cream after 5days it cleared up and is looking fine and healthy now x

I had an infection on my c section scar but after being on antibiotics for a few days it cleared up and healed quickly. I don’t think it was healed for a good 6 weeks though.

Finally recovering after having an infection at week 5. I didn’t experience increased bleeding but my incision did open up on the right side and weeped for a little while, antibiotics were given at week 5 but the opening wasn’t truly noticed until week 8, I’m 10 weeks ppm now and it’s almost closed up, I think. Doc told me just to let it breathe since there were no signs of infection

My c section wound was constantly infected for 9 weeks! Back to back antibiotics and due to the large amount of weeping it ended up being 4cm deep and 4 cm wide, being packed and dressed daily! Finally after 13 weeks it's healed x

This is my 3rd section 6months postpartum and it's took longer to heal I have had 4 infections in my wound x
