Heart burn and acid reflux

Isit just me but now the heartburn and acid reflux has become insane. Like I'm literally burping up acid. I've been drinking so much water but nothing helps. Whatever I eat triggers it. Only if I don't eat it settles abit. How are you guys dealing with it? I'm up all night can't sleep because if I lay down it becomes way worse

Ur midwife can prescribe you something. Mine is also so so bad but the medication helped. Can’t remember the name but mention it to your midwife xx

I was like that I’ve been prescribed omeprazole it’s made a massive difference

Do you think gavsicon is gonna work? I just literally drank half the bottle as it's so bad. I think it's helped abit

@Hafsah gaviscon did help me but only for a short while xxx

Should I go to my gp for that or midwife ?

They have otc meds that changed my life. I already had acid reflux issues and baby amplified it x 104572947 just talk to your dr

@Hafsah speak to your gp midwives can’t prescribe it unfortunately. Gaviscon/ rennies just stopped doing the job for me the further I got and also try not to eat so late x

@Hafsah u can get omeprazole from the pharmacy but i got mine from the dr as then its free

I found cutting out milk really helped and also eating watermelon helped stop the reflux

I had the same but I got prescribed omeprazole from my GP and it’s a game changer! Had no issues at all ever since! You can buy Nexium over the counter too which is Esomeprazole but it’s quite expensive and prescriptions are free and I felt more comfortable getting the GP involved anyway x

Thank you everyone for the advice I'm going to call my GP and get a prescription. Xxx

Definitely speak to gp. Also drinking s ton of water might reduce that initial acid ref sensation but i found that it actually works the opposite for me in s longer run and actually not drinking any more than usual, limiting water intake during and after meals and drinking in smaller amounts had helped me tremendously!

Yeah I agree I think by having more water it's overflowing my stomach acids back up
