Hershey owns bubbleyum so the drawing is a little funny but maybe it's meant to be ironic We won't be going anywhere tomorrow but this is the first I've heard about this specific boycott

Who is able to boycott gas…?

I need food, diapers, wipes, and basic human necessities. I'm not boycotting anything that will take away my ability to get basic needs for my family. You can't shop local for diapers, wipes, pads, toilet paper, basic human necessities of life. This is ridiculous 😒

@Carol💗💙 From my understanding it's just for Friday, not forever

@Carol💗💙 it's just for a day. Sorry that wasn't really clear. The boycott is also about trying to curb your spending for the day, so if you need those things tomorrow, absolutely get them. It's more like, if you can hold off for the day, it sends a message.

@FairyMother 🦖🌸 still, though. It ain't going to help anything for one day.

@Dory just for the day, but if you're running on E tomorrow, definitely fill up.

I understand that now.

@Carol💗💙 it actually sends a clear message when enough people band together, but obviously if you don't want to do this, no one is forcing you.

@FairyMother 🦖🌸 I think they just went for punk goose & the irony helped yanno ?

A 24-hour financial blackout may seem insignificant to some, but in reality, it can send a powerful message. For major corporations, every hour of lost revenue adds up, affecting stock values, sales projections, and overall financial stability. A single day of collective economic withdrawal disrupts their bottom line, demonstrating the power of consumer spending. The idea is for the movement to grow stronger & more long lasting, but one day is where it starts. Beyond the immediate financial hit, a successful boycott, especially when strategically repeated, creates uncertainty among investors, pressures executives to address consumer concerns, and forces companies to acknowledge the economic influence of the very people they often overlook. It’s not about just one single day; it's about proving that when people unite financially, they can shift the balance of power. Hope this helps. 🫶🏼🫡

@Carol💗💙 your president is already doing that. It's one day. You can absolutely shop those things local depending on where you're located.

I have to go to Asda (Walmart) today so won't be able to 🫤

@Rachel it's okay, no worries. There are others later this year. I'll post the list in a while when I get a chance. This one snuck up on me too, but I thankfully have everything we need. If I would have needed something though I wouldn't have been able to participate.

@Rachel if you can pay with cash, that's also part of the boycott.

No. Im not having internet strangers tell me where i should go to buy. I get the drive and concept behind this, and I’m very happy for those that participate. For me, I’m going wherever shit is cheap. If the local business has it cheap I’m going to them but if target has a better price…I’m going to them.

@S. annalese as I said to someone else, no one is forcing you. Not even me, an internet stranger who only asked if you're participating 😶‍🌫️.... Not demanded you participate. BTW, it's only for one day but you do you.

I don't really carry cash with me much now & there are no ATM's nearby to get any.

Yes, it know it’s for one day because i read your post and looked at the flyer in full. I took the time to read the flyer and saw the date on the bottom left hand corner. Not once in my comment did I use the word “force”. I additional acknowledge “the drive and concept behind this and I’m very happy for those that participate”. I respectfully gave my point of view based on your question and I gave my reasoning as to why I’m not participating (I’m going for the lower price regardless of mom and pa shop or big box store). I’m not sure why you’re unhappy with my response, but I’m genuinely sorry if you thought I was being rude sending your conversation in a different direction. I do apologize and was not looking for a feud over opinions based on the topic at hand. Thanks for including me in your conversation and do remember not everyone on here needs to be challenged with force

@S. annalese no, but you said you're not letting anyone tell you what to do, which in its literal form, implies a command. Which is where the misunderstanding occurred. I didn't think we were feuding. I'm also sorry my responses have come across as such.
