C-section timings - UK 🇬🇧

I'm on my second pregnancy so not sure it makes a difference. Had a emergency csection with the first, this one my csection is booked in at 39 weeks. 1 week exactly before my due date. I'm high risk due to weight and epilepsy but that hasn't played a part in this. I chose elective because of having a csection the first time. Not sure if that changes things either x

Mine was an elective section (due to medical reasons) at 38 weeks 3 days (yesterday) I believe for non- medical reasons they usually schedule for week 39 :) x

Elective following an emergency, I made them let me wait until 41 weeks. You can choose, maybe not the exact day but roughly

I had an elective due to her being breech mine was scheduled at 39+3

39 weeks standard. But was moved to 38 weeks due to gestational diabetes xx

Standard guidance is 39 weeks unless there’s any other factors needing early delivery

Thanks all. Trying to work out talong annual leave before possible c section so knowing it's around 39 week mark is super helpful.

Everyone that I ever talked to on here had their C-section early. They didn’t book mine until I was 40+2 weeks

Am 35 weeks today and I get my date next week , they have advised me to have one as I had a 4th degree tear with my first , as I wanted a water birth but they couldn’t let me have one as they need to monitor his head he’s weighing around 6lbs already am high risk too this time around so not sure when I’ll get my date

Unless there are complications where it's needed sooner, it's standard for them to be booked in the 39th week of pregnancy whenever in that week they can fit you in. Mine was scheduled for 39+3

I’m booked in for 39+1 with my first x

Hey I had an elective (non medical reason) and it was booked for 39+1. The hospital I was at did their electives on Tues and Thurs. I got my date at about 36/37 week midwife appt xx

Mine was two weeks before! 🤗
