Formula powder out'n'about

Am I right in thinking I can take a hot thermos flask out with me, the right amount of scoops of powder in a pot, a sterilised bottle and make up the correct volume of formula with the thermos flask and just cool it down under a cold tap?

You can do the hot shot method so you don't have to cool under a cold tap and it's a lot quicker! I do this and it's been a HUGE help! So I take 2x flasks - 1x with boiling water and the other with cooled down sterilised water. I fill up all the bottles I'd need throught the day with the exact amount of scoops so I'm not carrying around another container. She has 180ml (6oz) at a time. When I need a bottle, I'll pour 30ml of boiling water into the lid (we have MAM bottles so the lids have measurements), put in the bottle with the formula and give it a shake. That's the hot shot method :) then with an empty bottle I'll measure out 150ml of the cooled down water and mix with the one that has the boiled water and formula. Then it's ready to be drunk immediately! I hope that wasn't too confusing 😂

@Diana thanks Diana! Super clear ☺️ sounds like a good method!!

@Diana you’ve really explained all, there’s nothing to write in here lol cos that’s what I do when going out. It’s really cool 👌

Nanny for 13+ years, I've had my fair share of bottle making 😂😂

Rapid cools are a game changer! Carry the hot water in a flask do the hot shot with the formula then tip the rest into the rapid cool and it’ll be a drinkable temp under 2 minutes!
