Hi - after some advice regarding c section and scar tissue

I’ve just had my second baby over a month ago, and second c section. Nearly 2.5 years after my first was born. Op went really well, I lost about 715ml of blood which didn’t require any extra blood, but was a lot for my size apparently. I was told I had a lot more scar tissue then expected after only one planned c section and a stubborn blood vessel, hence more blood loss, and that I could go for a 3rd if planned, but not as an emergency. I’m still undecided if I want a 3rd but thinking ahead and wondering if anyone has anything similar. I had a very smooth recovery with my second and also a smooth pregnancy. Am I silly for considering a 3rd? It would be a + 2 year age gap as well so still have ages.

If they told you you can go for a third I don’t see why not? I would assume they might give you an earlier date to make sure you don’t go into labour before your scheduled operation. Not the same situation but when they cut me for my second c-section there was a student and and another doctor and the other doctor said “see, sometimes there is a lot of scar tissue”. They didn’t say anything about blood loss or having more sections, just that after 2 sections it is recommended to only have c-sections and not a natural labour.

Did you guys know you had more scar tissue before hand? My scar went hypertrophic/keloid and is very thick, i’m due my second Csection in May and am very anxious, it sounds like I should be prepared for more blood loss! - regarding your question i’m anxious about having my second and definitely won’t be having a third but if you’re not worried and they don’t seem to be then go for it!

Wow that’s nice to actually hear that someone had a positive second experience because I heard the second is worst than the first and my first was pretty bad

@Lor my scar was a very big keloid but they cut it off in my second c-section and this time round I am using silicone patches. So far the scar is only a very thin line and no keloid and it seems to be getting paler (looks much better than before). My section was end November so I hope the keloid will not come back.

@Svetlana that’s so good to hear and reassuring thank you! How often/long do you wear the patches for and since when?

@Lor I started 2 weeks after getting home and I followed the instructions on the package. If I am not mistaken the first day I kept them for 2 hours, the next day 4h, the next day 8 and so on, whilst now I keep them all day basically and only remove it to was myself and dry the area and let it breathe a bit.
