Exercises post c sections

Recommendations for exercises and healing. So I’ve had 2 c sections now, one in mid 2023 and one late 2024 and I went to attempt to do some core workouts to help me to continue to lose weight and it felt like my insides were going to fall out and was hurting so much after doing so little. I also think my muscles separated the second time too in the middle ☹️ I avoided this the first time round I’m 12kg down so far from my pre-pregnancy weight, most of that having my second 😬, and I’m trying to lose more and pcos is already making that difficult as it is.

I would strongly recommend you go and see a women’s health physio who can check for any separation and also advise on exercises. Sounds like you’re Doing really well, but I would recommend getting some advice as apparently the internal healing can take months and months xx

My nurse told me to stop doing workouts and let my body heal. Just go for 30-40 minute walks everyday. I had my section in October

Another vote for seeing a physio that specialises in women’s health, especially if you think you have ab separation. I had a “mummy MOT” (the phrase gives me the ick but that’s what the brand is called!) at 11w pp - my abs and pelvic floor were checked and I was given exercises to work on any issues

What exercises are you doing? Im 8mth PP and walk every where i also have pcos. Ive ive put weight back on as i lost weight whilst i was pregnant.

@Chan currently lifting weights (aka my toddler) 🤣 and squats cause they are easy and walking about
