Crying

As a women with BPD and expecting a baby I notice that I cry all the time and my husband is saying that emotions are “hurting my baby, and that if I cared about my daughter I would not be emotional” has anyone else felt this extremely emotional during pregnancy? I am trying my best to use my dbt skills and to control my emotions, but I’m so scared of being a first time mother and I want to be the best mom I can be for my child but I already feel like I’m failing as a mom

You’re pregnant. Your hormones are beyond your control. Being emotional is NORMAL. He’s gaslighting you. Do you have a safe space you can go to & leave him?

I’ll smack him up side the head for you. You are allowed to cry, and you sound like youre absolutely doing your best. 🫶🏼🫂 even if there’s fear, you know you’re using the skills you have & attempting to do your best.

Stress and thus cortisol can be unhealthy for a developing baby but if you’re just emotional and crying (watching a sad movie and crying for example, recalling a sad memory) then it’s not going to be harmful.

I’m sorry it doesn’t sound like your husband is very supportive
