Mothers day (UK)

It's mother's day on the 30th and it's our first as we didn't celebrate last year. It'll be my first and my mum's first as a grandparent. What should I get her?

Jumping in on this as my mums birthday is also 3 days before and she wants NOTHING 😩 I don’t want any chintzy keepsake (we’ve been de cluttering since I was pregnant) so I was wondering if it may be better for us to “do” something??

It's my first mother's day on my son's first birthday 😁🥰 I usually do something nice with my mum, last year we had afternoon tea so it would be nice to do something similar this year but obviously we won't be doing it on mother's day this year

Usually I cook a roast dinner for my mum and nana if she's around. This is our first mother's day in our new house too. I'm not sure if an afternoon tea or a gift or just do a roast is an idea. I've asked my partner what he has planned for it but he probably forgot when it was 😅 I've started making family keepsakes to sell on and not sure if they're appropriate for anything more than immediate family (like mum, dad and kid(s))

Same as Hayley. We have too much stuff now with two children and I’m trying to get rid of things. It’s my birthday the week before also so I don’t want anything myself. I don’t personally like all the stuff that tells me that I’m a great mum and I don’t like to buy it for others (I think my dislike of personalised stuff stems from being a teacher and getting loads of things like that that I don’t have the room for). I’d much rather take my mum out somewhere nice, or do something together. One year she had one of those ‘cream tea in the post’ type things which was a hit. I know my mum would rather spend time with me than have stuff.
