I know it’s kinda early for Potty Training…

But has anyone kinda started?! My son has been holding his diaper in the front kinda like what kids do when they have to go potty. I was thinking about starting to put him on the little potty we got him…any advice?! 🙃

We haven’t started any real training yet but just things to get her familiar with it. I bring her in the bathroom with me when I go. I tell her what I’m doing. We just brought out her little potty and she sits on it next to me while I go. She uses words like peepee and poopoo and recently started letting me know when she poops. So I figure I can at least start introducing the idea. I have baby #2 arriving in a month and ideally my daughter would be potty trained before then but I’m not rushing or forcing it.

@Megan that’s great! We have a little potty for him in our bathroom and recently when he follows me in there I’ve just been plopping him on his toilet and telling him about going peepee and poopoo and telling him about wiping and washing our hands haha

@Megan also, congrats on #2!! 😊

I will be starting after we come back from a trip. He’s been squatting to poop for a while and he LOVES to go to the bathroom with me when I go and he is fascinated with the toilet and everything I do in there lol

@Ellina haha yeah there is no bathroom visit without him 😆

We tried at 15 months and did the naked method and he was starting to understand but it would’ve taken longer than we wanted. He now tells us anytime he poops we just have to figure out his cues for peeing. He also can take his pants on and off and can take his diaper off. We’re going to try again soon. We got the seat adapter for the regular potty.

Starting now at almost 16months and it’s definitely a marathon. Using the oh crap method. Naked the first two days, then commando. It’s really on and off. He goes when prompted but can’t communicate that he needs to go yet (one week in) but this is said to be normal for 3 weeks. I’ll update you later if you’d like. The first three days were the most stressful but now I’m in a different mind about it. You’re both learning and doing this for the first time. Marathon, don’t put too much pressure on perfection. Accidents will happen. Good luck momma!

i tried but my baby is scared when i put her on 😂 im trying to put her on once a day to at least get her used to it

@Joanna awesome!! Let me know how it’s going for you 😃
