I probs only drive 10 miles at a time max but I’ll continue until baby is here. I drive for my job and have a toddler so just have to keep going. I did this last time too.
I’m still driving (not far though as my husband generally does the longer distances drives anyway) and will be up until baby arrives most likely, I did with my first. My thought process was that if labour did begin, it’s typically a slow process before getting to active labour anyway (obviously I know this isn’t the case for everyone) so if I’m not far from home it’s fine 🤣 I work an hour away from home though so I did stop that commute a while ago and started to WFH full time because sitting in the car for long periods is very uncomfortable!
36+3 and only driving if desperately needed as it’s so uncomfortable between the PGP and baby sitting so low now. 5mins into town is about my max now although I need to get to physio Monday which is a 20min drive so could be entertaining
I stopped driving in January as I have short legs and a big bump - I can't reach the pedals unless I really squeeze myself in which wouldn't have been safe for baby in a collision. I'm lucky though that I work mainly from home and my husband was able to drive me to appointments etc, probably would've carried on longer if that wasn't the case. It's interesting that we don't really have safety guidelines for driving while pregnant in the UK, but I found something from Spain that said you should have at least 2 inches gap between bump and wheel, and angle the wheel towards your chest instead of belly so that if you have a collision then airbag hits you and not baby
Thanks for all the replies 😊 I think I’m going to give up any long drives for now, and only drive if I really need to!
I’ve driven for half hour the other day and my pelvic girdle pain was awful as I was stuck in one position and couldn’t move so now I’m just passenger princess if we go on long drives 🤣🤷🏼♀️
I’m 36 weeks and still driving as normal ( I only do short distances though)
