Sleeping

Hello, what are you putting your baby into sleep currently? I have a 3 week old (birth weight was 8lbs 9oz) currently using a cellular blanket but no matter how much I tuck this in under mattress or round him, he’s started to kick it off. I’ve heard so many mixed options on sleep bags at this age even tho the two bags I’ve got say 0/6months. Please advise what’s working for you and your baby.

We do have a sleeping bag like that for my little one, but he really likes the Tommee Tippee swaddlebags x

Have a sleep bag like this as I hate how he also kicks the blankets off and I’m constantly watching lol

We have used sleeping bags since she was born and they have worked fine and she sleeps great with them on 🥰

As soon as weight/height are in range I’d do it, they’re so much easier!

As soon as my little one is 8 pounds I’ll be putting him in a sleeping bag. Currently using cellular blankets.

You can get swaddle bags/sleeping bags in newborn size or 0-3 in some brands. But as soon as they meet the weight/height you can use a 0-6 month bag too. I’ve always used swaddle/sleeping bags over blankets. Blankets give me too much anxiety at night.

100% sleeping bags whilst they're this little, they're so much safer 🙂 we have the 1 tog tommee tippee ones 0-3 months, and the 2.5 tog 0-4 months tommee tippee and they're just perfect for us size wise. Not too long and fit well (Our babba was born 8ib 4oz). Can choose to have arms in or out too. Got them cheap off vinted and then got some 0-6 month ones for when babba is bigger as they're longer

Seconding the Tommee Tippee swaddle bags. They’ve been a game changer for us and the only way ours will sleep independently. Also feels a lot safer than a blanket.

I’ve got love to dream swaddle bags at the minute, but will move to a sleeping bag once she meets the min weighs

We use the sleep bags, we’ve got a really thin blanket which I’m comfortable swaddling with or an extra large muslin, our boy loves arms out so doesn’t like swaddles bags. We do have two blankets my boyfriend likes to use, the one is now too thick and the other one he did kick off further up on himself in the day a few days ago and we’ve both been a bit scared since. We decide on bag or thin blanket depending on the temperature, if he’s really warm and it’s warm in our room he just sleeps in babygrow & vest until his first night feed. We have the tommee tippee grow egg to tell us the temperature.

I was worried about sleep bags but my girl is 7.2 Ibs and she fits perfectly in the 0-6 months Tommy tippee sleep bags (very long) but there’s no room to wiggle down xx

I also recommend the swaddle bags! They're quite a bit smaller because you can't swaddle once they start to roll

We’ve been using the love to dream swaddle bags and they’ve been great for us 😊

We have used sleeping bags since birth xx

My baby girl loves her sleep bags. They keep her nice and comfy while letting her arms be free

My girl loves the love to dream swaddle bags - except she has started to suck her thumb and can’t get to it at night so thinking of moving her to the transition love to dream bags soon!

We use the tommee tippee multi season grow bag for 0-6month, 1 and 2.5 tog. It’s great! Means she doesn’t feel the cold crib sheet when she’s transferred back from breastfeeding and she can kick her legs free

My baby was a similar size and age as yours. I use the sleeping bags like in your picture. He does great in it x

Thank you all for your messages! I have since tried him in a sleep suit and he seems to be getting on fine🥰
