I think it’s supposed to be 2-2.5oz for every pound they weigh

@Ali thanks this helpful I was wondering why he's been sleeping longer and still being hungry after 2 hrs

@Savannah for 5w thats not possible

@Victoria she might mean per day? That’s close to what I thought for formula.

@Meredith idk bc an 8lbs baby would need more than 16-10oz don't they

@Victoria my 7lb baby (3wks) is drinking (give or take) 14oz a day and gaining good weight. Obviously every baby is different and follow cues, but that’s on track for my baby!

@Meredith huh I always thought it was more but I don't really track oz just bottles 🤔

Unless a baby is having an issue with weight gain (like mine was) or not enought wet/dirty diapers, tracking amounts isn't exactly necessary. Just got my 4 week old averaging 16 oz a day- he only started gaining this last week. He's also a very small baby though =(

@Jaquelyn that's what I was thinking

Mines doing 4 oz…. Also 5 weeks but I think It depends on the baby… our pediatrician recommended nothing over 3 but he’s a good eater and I’m just rolling with the punches

My 5 week old is taking 4-5 oz every feeding and eating about 3-4 hrs apart rn. His peds says thats a bit more than average tho

@Victoria mine has a 2 month appointment on the second of April so I'll ask then

But till then I'm feeding him whenever he gets hungry which is every three to three and a half hours
