Most babies need 10 hours or so overnight so the 12 plus naps is possibly too much sleep. Most babies this age need 11-14 overall in 24 hours.
How long is his first nap? They should be getting 2-3 hours total of day time sleep at this age, he could possibly be over tired which is impacting his night time sleep. Your aim is 14 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. Is he breast or formula fed? Is he feeding in the night? What is happening when he wakes in the night? Does he have a dummy?
@Becky his naps are only about an hour he won’t go longer than that, he’s formula fed and feeds at night because he was underweight but he’s catching up now. I think he’s used to just being fed every 2 hours at night when he wakes, he does have a dummy but he just cries feeds then goes back to sleep. But he won’t settle unless he’s had milk so I don’t know if I should be trying to cut down the night feeds. He will only have about an oz or so sometimes after he wakes up.
My little boy is exactly same. Formula fed. Settles himself to sleep for daytime an for bed. But wakes up at 10am, 1am & 4am 🤣 he also has 3x 1hr naps in the day
My little boy is doing the exact same and exact same times! But he only seems to nap for 30 mins unless we are in the car 🤦🏼♀️
