Does this look like CMPA mucus poop?

Yea I’d say it does! Unfortunately you’ll find reflux probably will get worse on the prescribed formulas, they are a lot thinner which makes reflux worse. My little girls silent reflux was horrendous when we switched over and it took a months to get it under control as no one would listen to me, there were points it was worse than the CMPA itself and we contemplated switching back as it was the lesser of two evils xx

@Jade this is exactly how I feel... did it eventually get better or did you do anything which helped?

As jade said the cmpa milks are so thin they csn make reflux worse the gp can prescribe thickeners to try and help but reflux does usually get better once baby can sit up more and starts eating solids. They do look like cmpa poops to me my first always had mucus on her poo until it was under controld.

We were put on prescribed formula at about 6 weeks and it took until she was 5 months to get her silent reflux under control. We started with carobel (milk thickener), then went to gaviscon, then omeprazole tablets and then omeprazole liquid. It took 8 weeks to then get the dosing right for her. It should absolutely not have taken that long and mainly this was down to my GP being reluctant to help us at all and refusing to prescribe things due to costs which is unacceptable! We ended up in and out of hospital as she stopped feeding and we finally saw a consultant who was willing to help and we suddenly had a different baby within 2 weeks! We just had to keep fighting and advocating as standard reflux tricks did nothing for us xx

Yeah explosive poos are a symptom. The hypoallergenic formulas are a lot thinner, the reflux will get worse but you can ask your GP for gaviscon or a thickening agent to help x

We found reflux was worse as the formula was a much thinner consistency. we were prescribed Carobel which worked well x

We were also prescribed omeprazole x

Omg. The blowouts 😂🙈 if the poops coming out of the diaper get some cloth diaper covers and put that over the disposable and nomatter how liquidy or full the diaper is, no poop will come out, the real elastics catch it all. @Sally ESP if you know they’ll blowout in the car seat, use it when you go out, the cloth covers.

@Amie how much carobel did you use in say 6oz? Also was your baby very unsettled and crying or did you get the omeperazole purely for the reflux regurgitation?

@Sally my daughter was EBF and was just like this. Once weaned into solids it eased off. She doesn’t have CMPA

My sons poos are looking very similar to yours!
