Anyone else feeling pet guilt 😂

Ok it’s not the same as mum guilt but since I become pregnant my poor cat has been neglected due to me not being well and my husband working a lot. Shes a sweetheart and waits patiently by the bathroom until I finish throwing up to be fed and I’m lucky to have the company. But then I can’t play with her or give her any attention. She jumps up and down on the bed and naps with me. Bless her. I know it sounds silly but she is my adopted baby 😂 🐱 Anyone else!?

Yes for sure! My cat was glued to my side before I had my babies. She would always sit on my lap to cuddle. Then my pregnancy bump pushed her off, then my baby, then new bump and now new baby again. She's a trooper for how she has handle the change. Can't have been easy for her!

@Hanna-Sofia oh bless what a trooper. I’ve felt so guilty I’ve bought a lot of new toys 😂

Definitely a little guilt, but we have 4 cats so they entertain each other when we cant spend as much time with them

After giving birth my cat gave me the ick. I didn’t like her hair on the furniture or on my baby. I felt like she was gross/ from being in her litter box. I felt like she had “poopy paws” from going in her litter box so I felt like everywhere she walked there was poop and pee even though there wasn’t actually poo on her feet. None of those things bothered me before my baby was born. I FELT SO GUILTY that I felt this way towards her. It eventually wore off and I love her again. I have heard that woman feeling this way about their pets during pregnancy/ postpartum is not uncommon. Hormones be wild like that
