It’s routine. At my booking appointment and at HV visits too. First time I had a questionnaire to fill out and one question was whether there was any history of DV or police involvement. Then face to face she always worded it “do you have a good support system?” And “you feel comfortable bringing your baby home here?” For instance.
Yes, and they ask in every appointment after too.
Thanks 🩷
Routine question they ask everyone, just like they check in with your mental health at every appointment. They have to ask to make sure you and baby are safe and to ensure support is in place if any concerns. Midwives should have also asked it at every appointment too.
My midwife did at appointments where my husband wasn't present, and the HV did at the 6 week check when I was home with baby alone. They do routinely ask but sometimes they phrase as 'do you have a safe support system at home?' I know when I went in to be induced the midwife on admission asked as I was on my own due to it being a Friday and my husband still being at work
It’s a safeguarding tick box exercise. They asked me in front of my partner. I told them when he doesn’t follow my instructions promptly lol
It definitely should be routine.
Yes, it’s routine. Unfortunately, cases of domestic violence increase by a third during pregnancy.
It’s routine for them to ask
It's standard protocol for them to ask it. My midwife asked me it every time I saw her as well and she said it's just protocol
Routine question xx

Yes, it’s routine question, get asked every time I went to appointments as well.
