Gassy unsettled baby

Is it possible that what you eat can affect baby? I’m absolutely convinced that when I eat something that makes me gassy he’s also gassy. I’ve even started a food diary to try and figure out the culprits. I’m already vegan so cows milk isn’t a trigger here but so far things like pulses (chickpeas/houmous) and vegan meat substitutes have absolutely done my gut in and I suspect his too. He also has quite an obvious tongue tie which we’re getting assessed (always needs burping) but he has had settled nights so I’m thinking it must be food related!?

YES. Anything spicy for sure and baby can have many sensitivities just like us that they’re getting through the breast milk.

Yes. I asked a breastfeeding counsellor and basically anything that may make you gassy, caffeine and dairy are common culprits. I had Thai food and that appears to that upset my bub. Food diary is a really good idea but also don't forget that some babies just have unsettled periods with no real reason why.

Thanks both! His big sister had a cmpa and a super sensitive tummy and I’m already kicking myself for having the plant based chicken today as already I’m gassy AF and he’s squirmy and unsettled. We’re in for another sleepless night😭 My safe food list is going to be so narrow 😵‍💫

Spicy food and legumes do that. I recently found out that garlic makes my baby gassy too… according to google even onion and citrus fruits cause it but I am not sure if onion and garlic would be on the list if cooked.
