Girl, I feel you! I’m 7.5 months postpartum and still feel this way, I hate to break it to you😖 but I have read that it’s mainly caused by the relaxin and prolactin hormones that are released when you breastfeed. If you do not plan to breastfeed, then I am sure you will recover quicker from this symptom but if you do, that’s probably what will continue to cause this. I did get great advice from another mom regarding a collagen peptide supplement, and it did significantly help; instead of feeling like this daily, it now comes and goes. Hope that helps.🫶🏼
8w is when I started light core exercises, (for pelvic floor) stretching, Pilates, getting out and about w the baby. The more I walked the more I seemed to hurt less. I started Zumba at 4-5m when my energy levels came back also. My weight slowly dropped and I got back to weight by 1st bday but I slowly got more and more active i spent most of my sahm days out of the house
I was going to say the same! Slowing returning to some strength training helped a lot. Also doing even a short 5-10 min stretch in the morning to counteract the hunching from breastfeeding.
@Leah yeah and ny baby is getting fussier with each day. The only way to soothe him during the day is to wear him in carrier which further puts strain on my body. Like my body is absolutely done don’t know how i am managing every day. Did you do anything for your knees?
@Kristen yes breastfeeding is so hard on its own but also the hormones really mess you up 😓 I was actually thinking the same, i was going to start taking some calcium and collagen supplements. I’m so glad to hear it has really helped you!
@Kellie you’re absolutely right. But the way my body feels right now i can barely get up. My wrists and fingers hurt soo much as well. I have tried walking daily but i think i overdid it and now i am fatigued. How do you overall manage to stay active with a baby?
@Chloe you are right! Thought it seems impossible to take some tome out for yourself with a clingy baby, but i agree it’s really important to move my body.
I take him out OP. There were baby bounce classes at the library from 0-18m class and it was on a different day at a different local library 3 days a week so I’d go to all 3 if I had nothing else on, and we’d drop by the mall after and I’d walk around pushing the pram while he napped, have lunch. Other days, I have sahm mums inviting me out to here and there and I’d invite them out too so we’d be at the park or ikea or museum or zoo, just walking. Or playcentre etc. As a sahm I’m never home w my baby we get home at 2-3pm every day Mondays is the only day I’m home that’s coz I had a hectic weekend and recovering from the busy weekend. Tuesday comes and I’m heading off to his class at 10.30
oh no bless you😭honestly i just did the odd stretch (very rare) and it gradually got better the more things i did, it’s like having to re-train your body to do it all again! you will get there xx
I felt the exact same! I felt like someone had been constantly punching or kicking me around my rib area. I also had issues in my lower back & my knees, it does get easier! Your body is still adjusting to life PP plus you’re probably having to bend to pick up your baba! I just let it ride out to be honest, i was still heavily recovering from birth so was taking painkillers for that x
